RESOLUTION RESEARCH® EMPLOYEES GIVE BACK
Denver, Colo. – June 30, 2010 – During business hours, the Resolution Research management team works to provide companies with quantitative and qualitative market research. When they’re off the clock they give back, doing everything from teaching children how to snowboard to donating bone marrow.
When marketing director Mary Wuest isn’t helping promote Resolution Research she serves as a certified long-term ombudsman for the State of Colorado. Wuest is assigned to an assisted living facility and serves an advocate for the residents, making sure they are being treated well and that the facility is following health standards. She also helps settle disputes between families, residents and the facility.
In the winter, Adam LaMasters, project manager, volunteers for Burton Chill, a program that teaches underserved inner-city youth how to snowboard. “I provide children with coaching, mentoring and help with equipment set-up,” LaMasters explained. “It’s a great organization and experience.”
On the weekends, programming director, Amanda Miller contributes her vocal and piano talents to her church and assists with kids’ ministry. She also serves as a small group faith leader and participates in general outreach programs – like planting flowerbeds at homes for recovering addicts. Miller is even taking a few days of her vacation time this summer to volunteer at Vacation Bible School.
Kaylin Linke, operating director, volunteers for various events including bone marrow registry drives for Love Hope Strength Foundation, a music-centric cancer charity dedicated to providing support for cancer centers. In fact, Linke invited others at the office to register with the organization, which particularly interested IT Director, Craig Koehler who is donating his bone marrow in a couple weeks.
This traditional surgical method requires Koehler to be put under sedation, at which point incisions are made on each side of his lower back to allow for liquid marrow to be removed from his pelvic bones. There is a certain amount of pain associated with the surgery, as well as a blood transfusion resulting in the weakening of the immune system.
What inspires someone to undergo this extensive procedure? For Koehler it’s simply the ability to help another person.
“I just want to do something to make a difference, to help someone else live. I figured a few days of pain is nothing if it can help someone else live a longer, healthier life.”
“I’m honored to work with such wonderful people and am very proud of everyone’s contributions to the community,” stated Nina Nichols, president of Resolution Research. “Life isn’t just about helping those we know and love, but all of humanity. I’ve stated many times how great my team is; they’re proof that good people still exist and that one person can make a difference in the world.”
